Writing

Have you ever read a book and been blown away by the craftsmanship of the writing? Perhaps the world-building transported you to a magical place, or the poetic rhythm of the words amazed you. Or maybe a character resonated with you so deeply that you felt a sense of loss when you finished the book.

But you don’t have to be a master storyteller to be a good writer. At the Rewrite Workshops, we encourage anyone with a story to tell to JUST WRITE. In fact, not getting hung up on the craft of writing allows unencumbered creativity to flourish.
The story you tell about yourself is your most important story because it shapes who you are in the world. YOU hold the pen. Writing your story can take many forms, from private journal entries to penning your memoir. No one may ever read your story, or an entire audience may. But the point is, you have an important story to tell—whether it’s for yourself or a mass audience.

So here’s your challenge for the next week: Take just ten minutes a day to sit down and write. Don’t overthink it—just let the words flow. You can write in a journal, on a torn-out piece of notebook paper, on your computer—whatever works for you. Just write.
See where this takes you.
If you write, you are a writer.
